About UKDLSA

ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪರವಾನಗಿ ಭೂಮಾಪಕರ ಸಂಘ — the Uttara Kannada District Licensed Surveyors Association, uniting land surveying professionals across all 12 taluks.

A Union of Professionals, Built for Service

The Uttara Kannada District Licensed Surveyors Association (UKDLSA) was established and registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 and Rules 1961. The association was formed by licensed surveyors who recognised that collective organisation was essential to protecting their professional interests, improving their working conditions, and ensuring that the government heard their voice.

Licensed surveyors — ಪರವಾನಗಿ ಭೂಮಾಪಕರ — are government-licensed professionals who play a foundational role in Karnataka's revenue administration. They measure land, demarcate boundaries, prepare official survey sketches, and help resolve land disputes. Their work underpins the accuracy of RTCs (Records of Rights, Tenancy and Crops) and mutation entries that govern land ownership across the state.

UKDLSA is headquartered at Sahana Palace, Ground Floor, Ankola — 581314, in Uttara Kannada district, and represents surveyors across all 12 taluks of the district. The association runs on an annual period from 1 April to 31 March, with office hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all days.

What Licensed Surveyors Do in Karnataka

Licensed surveyors are essential to Karnataka's land administration system, operating under government authority across all taluks.

📐

Land Measurement

Government-licensed surveyors measure agricultural land, residential plots, and commercial properties using authorised instruments and methodology. Measurements are recorded in official survey forms and submitted to the revenue department.

🗺️

Boundary Demarcation

Surveyors physically demarcate land boundaries by placing boundary stones, preparing field sketches, and recording measurements in phodi (survey field books). This work is critical in preventing and resolving boundary disputes between landowners.

📜

Survey Sketches

Licensed surveyors prepare survey sketches (ಸರ್ವೆ ನಕ್ಷೆ) that form official attachments to land title documents. These sketches must meet Karnataka revenue department standards and are used in court proceedings and property registrations.

📋

RTC & Land Records

Survey work feeds into RTC (Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crops) maintenance and mutation entries. When land is subdivided, consolidated, or transferred, surveyors provide the measurement data that revenue officials use to update official records.

⚖️

Dispute Resolution

Licensed surveyors assist revenue officials and courts in resolving land boundary disputes. Their neutral professional measurements and sketches carry evidential weight in Karnataka revenue courts and civil courts.

🏗️

Development & Infrastructure

Pre-construction surveys, acquisition demarcations, and layout approvals all require licensed surveyors. They support government infrastructure projects, housing developments, and industrial sites across the district.
